John brings over three decades of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with deep expertise in formulation development, product scale-up, and process validation. His career includes successfully overseeing the transfer of numerous products from UK-based sites to manufacturing facilities in Slovenia, Germany, and Canada.
Previously, John managed a thriving formulation and analytical unit, where he led a multidisciplinary team that developed and secured marketing authorizations for several innovative veterinary medicinal products. He possesses a comprehensive and current understanding of analytics, formulation strategies, validation processes, and regulatory affairs.
John has authored detailed pharmaceutical expert reports—critical summaries that reflect his depth of technical knowledge—and is well-versed in navigating communications with regulatory authorities.
Outside of work, John is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys fly fishing, gardening, and hiking. His contributions to the field were recognized in March 1996, when he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Neil has worked in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry for a period comparable to John’s, bringing a wealth of experience to analytical testing and method development. During his tenure with Novartis Animal Health and later Elanco, he successfully led teams responsible for comprehensive analytical testing of veterinary medicines. His expertise spans the development and validation of analytical methods for drug substances, finished products, and degradation profiles, as well as all aspects of stability testing.
Known for his practical approach to complex analytical challenges, Neil has devised and validated a number of innovative procedures. His technical writing skills are exceptional—he has authored and curated an extensive library of GMP-compliant SOPs covering analytical practices, validation protocols, and laboratory operations. He has performed gap analyses across a wide array of technical documents and has a proven track record in resolving critical issues with precision and insight.
Beyond his professional achievements, Neil is an avid musician, photographer, and enthusiast of classic and modern cars. A dedicated member of a pipe band for over 40 years, he continues to mentor junior members and pass on his musical knowledge. In recognition of his contributions to the field, Neil was elected a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2001.
